When The Soul Shines:
A Hanukkah Meditation Journey by Or HaLev & HaMakom

Wednesday, December 25, 2024 - Thursday, January 2, 2025

30 minute meditation delivered to your inbox each day of Hanukkah,
with a 75 minute live session on Tuesday, December 31

“The lifebreath of a human is God’s candle, revealing all their innermost parts.”

By teaching us that our breath and our soul are the lamp of the Divine, Mishlei (20.27) reminds us that we are constantly enlightened from within.
Sometimes we feel it. Sometimes we feel far away from it.
Perhaps after such a difficult year it feels out of reach, or that you can’t find your way back to your inner light. Perhaps it feels like the darkness of the world around is too thick for your little candle to enlighten it.

Wherever you are standing with your light, a core part of mindfulness practice is to help us remember - one of the original meanings of the practice of mindfulness - it is always already there.

And that the more we pay attention to it and nurture it, the more it grows.
When we sit in meditation, it is as if we were turning on that light again.

As we let the light of awareness reveal our innermost parts, it also becomes a precious opportunity for an intimate encounter with God. And when we let the divine light shine through us, we can enlighten the world.

Just as the purpose of the Hanukkiah is to be lit from within and seen from the outside, so is the ultimate goal of our practice: to enlighten, beyond ourselves, the world around us.

Join Mira and Zac for 8 days of spiritual practice to connect to the miracle of Hanukkah.

Each day throughout Hanukkah, you will receive a half-hour guided meditation in your inbox.

On Tuesday, December 31st, we will meet on Zoom for a live teaching and an opportunity to connect to the greater community of practitioners.

There will also be an interactive space open throughout Hanukkah for sharing practice experiences and intentions for each day as we journey together.

Our journey will include a meditation for each day of Hanukkah:

Day 1 / One light: Ner (Light): Remembering the light

Day 2 / Two lights: P’tilah (Wick): Remembering the body

Day 3 / Three lights: Shemen (Oil): Remembering the importance of our actions

Day 4 / Four lights: Ma’alim B’kdusha (Ascending in holiness): Remembering to shine within

Day 5 / Five lights: Chesed (Kindness): Remembering to shine out

Day 6 / Six lights: Hallel (Praise): Remembering to praise

Day 7 / Seven lights: Live session

Day 8 / Eight lights: Nes (Miracle): Remembering the miracle

A live teaching on Tuesday, December 31 at 10am PT / 1pm ET / 18:00 UK / 20:00 Israel
