Lech Lecha

Are we willing to go forth, into the unknown?

Reflection by Or HaLev teacher Dafna Arnoni

"Lech Lecha. Go forth.

The direct calling from God to Abraham is so simple and powerful.

There's your life. The familiar and known world.

And then there's the inner place, which knows.

God speaks to Abraham and calls him to go forth, to leave. Into the unknown...

Supported by the voice of God, he leaves his world and his familiar and safe life – and walks forth to a new path.

Paving a road, clearing the paths, spreading and revealing, discovering in himself and in the world new-ancient places.

Go forth.

There is a place in you that recognizes, that knows.

Like Abraham, sometimes we hear an inner call.

Stop. Look inward. What is that close and loving intimate inner place that exists within us?

What worlds will be revealed to me if I go there?

Meditation invites me to get to know more layers, deep and hidden and less present in the day to day and the outside world.

The silence, the turning inward allows for a contact with a deeper `self`, and a connection with the divine part that is present within you.

Go forth.

May we be privileged to follow the footsteps of our father Abraham, attentive to the voice of God that resonates within us, walking boldly with determination and love on the path of our lives.”
